  • Why should I attend Iona's Pre-College Program?

    Iona College’s Pre-College program provides a hands-on opportunity to engage in college learning while still in high school. Developing academic, personal, and professional skill sets, this program will provide opportunities for students to gain three academic college credits, learn in our state-of-the-art facility, and take a guided tour of the the Iona College campus!
  • Where is the program held? What are the dates for 2018?

    The program is held at Iona’s New Rochelle campus, located 20 miles from New York City – the cultural and financial capital of the world – Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., from July 9 - July 20, 2018.
  • Who is eligible for the Summer Pre-College Program?

    The program is for rising juniors and seniors in high school who are in good academic standing
  • What is the cost of the 2018 Summer Pre-College?

    The summer 2018 program fee will be $2,995 which includes three college credits, all materials and lunch daily.
  • How do I go about the application process?

    Prospective students shall submit a completed application, a copy of their high school transcript, one recommendation letter from a teacher/counselor/principal and a short essay about their interest in the Iona Summer Pre-College program.
  • When is the application deadline?

    Acceptance into the Summer Pre-College Program is based on a rolling, space-available basis. We are currently accepting applications for all of our programs, so apply today!
  • Will I be challenged by the coursework?

    Material will be taught at the college level, providing challenging, insightful discussions through the course, as well as a glimpse of college-level work for each participant. Faculty members will be available to assist in maximizing the academic experience for each topic.
  • Can I really receive college credit when I take a Pre-College course?

    Yes! All courses will grant students three transferable college credits. Led by prestigious and nationally recognized faculty, this course provides an opportunity to gain college credits through expert lectures and hands-on experience.
  • Are any types of financial aid available for prospective students?

    A limited number of scholarships will be available.
  • Are the students supervised?

    Our primary goal is to make sure students are safe during their time on campus. Students will be supervised while attending this program. Iona Campus Safety officers are available 24/7.
  • Will the children of employees be eligible for tuition remission?

    This program will not be a part of tuition remission for the children of employees.
  • Will there be health care professionals on hand?

    A trained health care professional will be on campus from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Safety and security officers are on duty 24-hours-a-day. Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital is located less than two miles away from campus. Doctors and urgent care facilities are located in the local area as well.
