Bayonia Marshall ’15

Gaining leadership skills to move the world

Bayonia Marshall knew that she wanted to attend Iona from the moment she stepped on campus for a visit. She was attracted to Iona’s close-knit community and hands-on faculty, and she has since gained close friendships.

Now a senior pursuing a degree in International Business, Bayonia started taking advantage of many leadership opportunities at Iona right away. She became a member of the campus club Students of Caribbean Ancestry (SOCA) early in her college career and rose through the ranks from events coordinator, to vice president, to current president. The club promotes diversity and knowledge of various Caribbean cultures and also works to bring to the College community awareness of current issues, events, culture, heritage and lifestyles of the Caribbean.

Bayonia is also an active member of Iona's Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP), an academic enrichment program for students who are specifically looking to work in technical fields. As a member of CSTEP, Bayonia has been involved in numerous program activities and has attended professional conferences in Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles.
