A Passion for Service that Knows No Boundaries

Brianna Hines '14 Picture

Visit 50 years of women at Iona College site Brianna has always had a passion for service and helping the underserved. After graduating from Iona with her degree in biology, she pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a dentist and is now enrolled in Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. Immediately she jumped into service work by attending Give Kids a Smile Days where she provides screenings and cleanings, and leading trips to local children’s hospitals and homeless shelters where she gives instruction on oral hygiene in a fun and interactive way. Additionally, Brianna spent three weeks in Madagascar to provide acute dental care to a severely underserved community – patients traveled for days to receive care from her and her eight other classmates. She will culminate her dental school experience by attending an outreach mission in Virginia, again providing dental care to underserved residents.

Brianna embodies the true spirit of an Iona Gael through her countless efforts to give back to her local community and beyond.
