Operation Rice Bowl
Deepen your Lent by doing Operation Rice Bowl!
Operation Rice Bowl is a way to give to our neighbors who are suffering from poverty. 75% of the total funds collected during Lent will support Catholic Relief Services’ programs around the world, while the remainder will be given to a local soup kitchen. $1 a day for 40 days of Lent means: 1 month of food for a family, 2 years of seed for a farmer, or 3 months of clean water for 4 families.
Stand in solidarity with the world’s poor by giving of yourself this Lent.
Please pick up your Rice Bowl after Ash Wednesday Mass services or in the Office of Mission & Ministry. Please return the Rice Bowls to the Office of Mission & Ministry by April 13, 2023. Thank you for your support!
Special Events for Students
Retreat for Busy People
Retreatants meet with a guide of your choosing for about 30 minutes or so at a mutually agreed upon time. Retreatants are given a booklet that offers readings from scripture for each day of Lent, as well as some points and questions for reflection. You are invited to find some time alone to read and reflect on the readings and the questions. When you meet with your guide, you share together how the readings spoke to you. The questions can generate a conversation between the two of you that can be beneficial for both of you. Each session ends with a prayer.
This year's retreat will be held between Sunday, February 26 and Friday, March 3.
