We are looking forward to meeting you at Orientation and hope that you are excited to take the next step in your life. We understand that there may be some of you who plan to come to Orientation via public transportation, therefore, we wanted to provide you with some assistance.

Train:

Iona College is located in New Rochelle, which is accessible by public transportation on the MetroNorth Railroad. The MetroNorth Railroad stops at the New Rochelle Transit Center on the New Haven line. You can review the New Haven line schedule online.

Amtrak also stops at the New Rochelle Transit Center. You can review the Amtrak schedule online.

Bus:

New Rochelle is also accessible by public transportation from the Beeline Bus system. The #45 runs from Pelham Bay and stops in front of campus. To return to the train after Orientation, the #45 stop is in front of Dunkin Donuts diagonally across from campus. Additional bus schedules from other cities in Westchester are available here.

Campus Shuttle (Gael Express):

During the academic year, the campus runs a free campus shuttle to the New Rochelle Transit Center. This shuttle does not run regularly during the summer. However, if students express a need for the shuttle to aid with transportation before and after Orientation, the College will work to accommodate these needs. If you will need the campus shuttle and plan to arrive at the New Rochelle Transit Center between 7:30 and 9:00 a.m. on your Orientation day, please respond to this email with your full name and arrival time. Remember check-in is from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. The Orientation program begins with breakfast between 9 - 10 a.m. You must respond at least three business days before your scheduled Orientation if you will need the campus shuttle service. The College will work to accommodate your travel needs during the scheduled time. If needed, the shuttle will return students to the New Rochelle Transit Station immediately after Orientation.
