Message from the President
Welcome to Iona College, a community with a mission to “move the world.”
The Christian Brothers founded Iona on the principle that higher education is the portal to a better life and a better world. It still is. This is especially true at Iona, where academic rigor, the spirit of community and respect for all faiths propel us to live lives of meaning and service to others––to help move the world forward.
This is the Iona experience.
We are shaped most powerfully by the people who share our community and our mission:
Students, who embrace Iona’s promise to challenge the limits of their minds and nurture their spirits, and whose enthusiasm defines life on campus
Alumni, whose character and accomplishments demonstrate the value of an Iona education, and who stand ready to lend a hand to their alma mater
Faculty, administrators and staff, who are committed to the personal growth and development of our students through a liberal arts education–one rooted in the reality of the world’s challenges and blessings
The Christian Brothers, who demonstrate justice, peace and service to others
Our highly accredited programs, in the acclaimed Hagan School of Business programs and School of Arts & Science, shape academic life at Iona. But the Iona experience is more than the accumulation of credits. Here, students pursue their passions, develop their faith and connect their knowledge to experiences in our shared community of New Rochelle, the great learning lab of New York City and beyond.
Like the Christian Brothers, Iona students turn their passions into meaningful careers. Our alumni, carrying the mark of the Iona experience–commitment to service, confident leadership, ethical decision-making and skillful problem solving–launch careers at leading companies and build successful, meaningful lives.
To truly know Iona you must experience it. In addition to exploring the website, I personally invite you to visit our beautiful tree-lined campus and impeccable facilities that inspire learning. And when you're here, I hope you find yourself at home.
