IONA

Use your creative powers to move the world.

The arts can move us to tears, laughter, awe, and a deeper understanding of the human experience. We welcome you to bring your talents, creativity and passion for the arts to Iona and together we will build a rich foundation in aesthetic literacy and its practical applications. Through in-depth investigation of one of four arts disciplines –– dance, music, theatre or visual arts – you will develop your artistic, academic and expressive potential along with your creative power to move the world.

A thriving arts community, a dedicated arts faculty

As a Fine and Performing Arts student, you’ll experience close, personal faculty interactions, small class sizes and performance and exhibit opportunities throughout the year. Our faculty members are working artist-scholars who are committed to bringing out your best and encouraging deeper personal expression––in the studio, on the stage, in the gallery or performance hall.

On campus, the Fine and Performing Arts Department produces artistic and cultural programs for the enrichment of students and the community at large.  Student exhibits occur at the Brother Kenneth Chapman Gallery in the Iona College Arts Center and student and guest artist performances occur in in Christopher J. Murphy Auditorium, Doorley Auditorium and Romita Auditorium.
