Dr. Michael Jordan, Chair of the Philosophy Department, received a BA in Philosophy from St. Peter’s College and an MA and PhD in Philosophy from Rutgers University. His dissertation topic was in the area of Medieval Philosophy and his areas of competence are History of Philosophy, Logic and Critical Thinking, Ethics (applied and theoretical), and Political Philosophy. His current research interests include Free Speech Theory and Ethics in Technology.
Dr. Jordan’s recently completed service to the College includes serving as Chair of the Faculty Senate, Chair of the College Council, and Co-chair of the Middle States Self-Study Task Force. In addition to chairing the Philosophy Department, he is Co-chair of the core curriculum review committee.
