Delta Theta Beta Sorority
Delta Theta Beta was founded in 1984 and has been flourishing on Iona’s campus ever since. Our diverse and fun-loving organization strives to encourage life long bonds rooted in our values of dedication, contribution and individuality. Sisters have the opportunity to create and strengthen bonds with each other and our community through philanthropy, community service collaboration and co-sponsorship, as well as social events. Every sister brings her own strengths, personality and achievements to the organization and with the strong bond of sisterhood we are together able to push each other to be the best that we can be individually, academically and as an organization.
Every year as an organization we choose philanthropies to support which are meaningful to our sisters. This results in us holding a wide variety of events throughout the year, each one supporting a cause close to a sister’s heart. Some of the events we have held in the past supported multiple sclerosis and breast cancer, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Brianna’s Dream. During the Fall 2014 semester we will welcome our honorary sister Grace and her mother Joan to Iona with an event supporting the foundation, Grace For A Cure. Joan founded Grace For A Cure to fundraise and contribute to the research for a cure of Sanfilippo syndrome. We will also hold our bi-annual blood drive, a tradition kept since founding, and Strawberries for Strength. This will be the second year we hold Strawberries for Strength, an event supporting cancer prevention and awareness and celebrating the memory and strength of those fighting cancer. We also hold a variety of activity hour events throughout the semester, keep an eye out for flyers and Facebook invites!
We hold member meetings every Tuesday at 9:30pm.
