IONA

Gaelic Society

Although the Gaelic Society was a big part of Iona in the past, we just recently brought the club back, and in 2015 we were fortunate enough to win the Outstanding New Organization Award at the G.A.E.L. Awards Dinner as seen above.

Mission & Purpose

Iona College's Gaelic Society is a community of students who celebrate the culture, music, and spirit of Ireland. The club happily comes together to share in Ireland's rich traditions. The Gaelic Society marches in New York City's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, celebrates with a Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day event, raises money with a St. Baldrick’s event on campus, displays movies that promote Irish heritage, and much more. You may also see us participating in campus events led by other organizations such as the Involvement Fair, Homecoming, and Cultural Game Night. The Gaelic Society provides the opportunity for students of all backgrounds to immerse themselves in Irish culture, and to have fun while they’re doing so.

Meetings

We meet every other Thursday at noon in Amend 207. All are welcome!
