Iona University senior Christina Mangiafreno '24 is currently pursuing a degree in management with a minor in biology. During the summer, she had the opportunity to intern at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in Tarrytown, N.Y.

“What I find rewarding about my internship at Regeneron is the ability to combine my two passions: business and biology,” she said. “I take pride in my role behind the scenes, contributing to the development of new medicines, therapies, and biotechnology to help patients who are suffering from various illnesses."

The success of Mangiafreno's internship serves as a testament to the power of “Gaels take care of Gaels.” Mangiafreno met an alumna at Regeneron who spoke during a career chat event and referred her for the internship.

Mangiafreno credits the LaPenta School of Business (LSB) and her Iona professors for providing opportunities to make connections in the business world.

“The Career Chats in the LSB do a great job of helping students expand their network and gain knowledge of different career paths across industries. Thank you to the LaPenta School of Business for facilitating these meaningful exchanges,” she said.

Mangiafreno will continue at Regeneron part-time until graduation, where she will work as an asset management and support systems coordinator.
