History
Andrew J. Dolce, a distinguished alumnus of Iona College's class of 1957, has built an exceptional legacy in the hospitality industry spanning several decades. After earning his bachelor's degree in economics from Iona in 1957, he furthered his education with a master's degree from Cornell University in Applied Economic Management, where he authored a book on economics for the food industry. His academic achievements were further recognized when Iona bestowed upon him an Honorary Doctorate in 2019.
Dolce's pioneering career in hospitality began at the American Management Association, where he managed hundreds of conferences annually throughout the United States. His vision for transforming the conference experience took shape during his time as Executive Vice President at Harrison Conference Centers, where he created the industry's first "Complete Meetings Package." In 1981, he founded Dolce International, which he built into a world-leading hospitality organization before rebranding it as Dolce Hotels and Resorts in 2008. The company was ultimately acquired by Wyndham Hotel Group in 2015.
Throughout his career, Dolce has been recognized as one of the "25 Most Influential Executives" in the meetings and travel industries by major publications. Beyond his professional achievements, he has maintained strong ties to education and community service. He serves on the Board of Trustees at Iona University.
Andy also served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps and currently contributes to Operation Smile Medical Missions in Central and South America.
Family is central to Andy Dolce's life. He is married to Camile and has created a strong multigenerational connection to Iona University through his children and extended family. His son Christopher Dolce graduated from Iona in 1981, and his son-in-law David Singer is an alumnus from the class of 1983. The Iona legacy continues with his granddaughter Kimberly Singer, who graduated in 2016. Andy and Camile are also proud parents to daughters Andrea and Denise Dolce, and sons Paul and Danny Dolce.
