Established by Richard ’66 and Maureen Biondi in 2005, the Richard P. ’66 and Maureen A. Biondi Endowed Scholarship assists students show an interest in serving others through activities including volunteerism, mentoring, and community service. (61040)
History
Richard Biondi was the driving force behind multiple causes in Westchester County. Known in many circles for his tireless efforts on behalf of the aged, the blind, those with special needs, and academia, he was a champion for others and was committed to making the world a better place.
He was a graduate of St. Helena's High School and Iona College, and received a master’s degree from SUNY Albany. He served as Senior Vice President of White Plains Hospital Center. Before that, he worked for Verizon, New York Medical College, and General Foods Corporation. Early in his career, he enjoyed a multifaceted role in higher education at Iona College.
Active in community and civic activities, he served in a variety of leadership roles for numerous organizations including the Westchester Public/Private Partnership Fund for Aging Services, the County Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement of the Lower Hudson Valley; Lighthouse International, the Food Bank for Westchester, and the American Heart Association of Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam Counties. In addition, he served as a Board Member of Iona College’s Advisory Trustees.
Richard and Maureen’s first-born grandson, Thomas O’Sullivan, is a 2023 graduate of Iona University.
