“Shadow” Care Team
Location: Dobbs Ferry, NY & virtual via Zoom
Stipend: $450
Time Commitment: 6-week rotation (~6-8 hours total)

  1. Applicants MUST be able to commit to engaged participation for the FULL rotation and have ability to get to field site
  2. IPE Student Team comprised of 6 IPE students; one student from each of the following disciplines: CSD, MFT, MCH, Nursing, OT, SOW
  3. Students must be available to attend a one hour, in-person orientation.  Date and time to be determined by IPE facilitator, Lorraine Campanelli, and student fellows.
  4. All IPE Student Team members participate in one-hour, weekly Zoom Care Plan Meeting Debriefs with IPE supervisor, Lorraine Campanelli, LMSW
  5. IPE Students complete a self-assessment of IPE competency development and a set of reflections at the conclusion of the IPE rotation. 
  6. Stipend paid in full on completion of IPE field rotation (inclusive of assessment and reflection component).

Spring 2024 Rotation

  1. Start Date: Week of 2/19/2024
  2. Rotation 1 weeks of: 2/12, 2/19, 2/26, 3/4, 3/18, 3/25, 4/1 (no meeting the week of 3/10)
  3. A one-hour orientation to be determined between IPE fellows and facilitator.

Mind Up Groups (Mind Up For Moms)
Location: In –person Dobbs Ferry, NY and virtual via Zoom
Time Commitment: 10-week rotation + 3-hour orientation (~23-25 hours total)
Stipend: $1250

  1. Applicant MUST be able to commit to engaged participation for the FULL rotation and have ability to get to field site
  2. Applicant must have completed the full IPE-sponsored Mind UP training by the time of rotation start (or be scheduled for SP24 offering and completed prior to start of 10-week rotation)
  3. IPE Student Team comprised of bilingual students each, with one each from among the following disciplines: CSD, Education, MFT, Nursing, School PSY and OT.  
  4. Student-led planning (first two weeks of rotation- via Zoom with IPE field facilitator Lorraine Campanelli, LMSW.  Day/time to be negotiated between Lorraine Campanelli & IPE Team members) and in-person delivery of 4-week in-person Mind UP Program with CIS Moms (Mind UP for Moms) or with CIS kids (Mind Up for Kids) (day/specific afternoon time of in-person delivery to be negotiated by IPE Team members & Facilitator).
  5. Weekly meetings with IPE supervisor via Zoom (day/time to be negotiated by the IPE Team members & supervisor) 
  6. IPE Student Team to conduct evaluation of Mind UP effectiveness 
  7. IPE Student Team members complete self-assessment of IPE competency development and a set of reflections at conclusion of rotation. 
  8. Stipend paid in full on completion of rotation (inclusive of assessment & reflection component).

Spring 2024 Rotation

  1. Start date: week of 2/19/24
  2. Rotation 1 weeks: 2/23, 3/1, 3/8, 3/22, 4/5, 4/12, 4/19, 4/26, 5/3, 5/10 (no session weeks of 3/15 and 3/29).

Time Commitment: 7 - week rotation, 1.5 hours per week (~1.5 hr s. of homework)
Stipend: $675 (monolingual-Eng). $750 (bilingual Sp/Eng)

  1. Applicants MUST be able to commit to engaged participation for the FULL rotation and have ability to get to field site
  2. IPE Student Team comprised of 10 – 15 students (bilingual preferred) from among the following disciplines: CSD, Education, MHC, MFT, Nursing, School PSY, OT, Social Work.
  3. Storytelling training led by Deborah Mosley.  6 weeks of instruction followed by 1 week of on-site storytelling demonstration. Sessions held on Thursday afternoon from 1:30 – 3 p.m. on site in Dobbs Ferry, Immigrant Services Facilities.
  4. Weekly meeting with IPE facilitator, Lorraine Campanelli.  (Day/time/manner to be negotiated by IPE team members & facilitator)
  5. IPE Student Team members complete self-assessment of IPE competency development and a set of reflections at conclusion of rotation.

Spring 2024 Rotation

Location: Virtual 
Time Commitment: 6 – weeks, 2 – 4 hours of group and independent work
Stipend: $960 (monolingual – Eng), $1,080 (bilingual Sp/Eng)

  1. Applicants MUST be able to commit to engaged participation for the FULL 6-week rotation and have ability attend meetings without distraction or divided attention (i.e. not while driving or multi-tasking).
  2. Applicants must have time to attend weekly virtual meetings with facilitator, Dr, Kate Gmuer, and other fellows. Sessions will be held on Monday from 4 – 6 p.m.
  3. IPE Student Team comprised of 4-6 students (bilingual preferred) from among the following disciplines: CSD, Education, School PSY and OT.
  4. Project led by Dr. Kate Gmuer. 6 weeks of group and independent work. Students should expect 2 – 3 hours of independent work in addition to weekly team meetings.
  5. Students should be comfortable reviewing discipline specific diagnostic testing information and aggregating information based upon instruction from the facilitator.
  6. IPE Student Team members complete self-assessment of IPE competency development and a set of reflections at conclusion of rotation.
  7. Stipend paid in full on completion of rotation (inclusive of assessment & reflection component).

Start date: 2/26/24

Rotation Dates: 2/26, 3/4, 3/19, 3/25, 4/1, 4/8 (no session week of 3/11)

Time Commitment: 4-week rotation (~15 hours total, including on-site visit, planning and debriefs)

  3. All members of the IPE student team attend 3-hour in-person orientation and assessment session at the Housing Center site with Iona faculty and Eastchester Community field supervisor on Thursday 3/7/24 from 3:00 – 6:00.
  4. All members of the IPE student team attend in-person visit #2, 4/4/24 from 3:00 – 6:00.  Sessions includes program with residents, debrief and planning session. (3 hrs)
  5. All members of the IPE team attend in-person visit #3, 4/11/24 from 3:00 – 6:00.  Session includes program with residents, debrief and planning (3 hrs).
  6. All members of the IPE team attend in-person visit #4, 4/18/24 from 3:00 – 6:00.  Session includes program with residents, debrief and planning (3 hrs).
  7. IPE Students complete a self-assessment of IPE competency development and a set of reflections at the conclusion of the IPE rotation. 
  8. Stipend paid in full on completion of IPE field rotation (inclusive of assessment and reflection component).

Spring 2024 Rotation

Member of Simulated IPE Team: One student from each of the Iona IPE disciplines: Communication Sciences & Disorders; Undergraduate Education; Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, School Psychology, Social Work.

Location: NY-PI School of Health Sciences, Bronxville Campus

Stipend: $175

Time commitment: Saturday 4/20/24 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. (inclusive of simulation debrief), 1 hour to complete pre- & post- simulation surveys; 1 hour to complete reflections.

Description of IPE Simulation Pilot Fellowship:
This is a one-day in-person IPE Fellowship with brief pre/post online surveys and completion of Reflections on the IPE learning experience. Team members will participate in a pilot simulation of an IPE team meeting set within a partial day hospital and focused on the comprehensive treatment (including education) of a child/adolescent ‘client.’ The IPE Team will engage with trained “standardized clients” who will portray the client and their family members.  The purpose of the pilot is twofold: (1) to provide student IPE Team Members with the opportunity to engage with standardized clients and participate in an interprofessional team meeting where they can apply the knowledge, skills and principles learned in discipline-specific and IPE preparation and (2) to solicit and actively engage feedback of simulation participants in the formative assessment of the simulation’s effectiveness, to assist IPE faculty in preparing to scale-up IPE Simulation as an integral component of the IPE curriculum.

  1. Applicants must be able to attend the entirety of the session on Saturday 4/20/24 (9 a.m.-2 p.m.) and commit to completing pre/post-test Simulation Surveys and reflection.
  2. Student Team Members must have completed both Fall & Spring IPE modules (i.e., attended both retreats and the fall virtual follow-up session) prior to the date of the simulation.
  3. Stipend will be paid following completion of the Simulation, and pre- & post- reflective components.
