Samuel Rudin Academic Resource Center

The Center was established in memory of Samuel Rudin in September 1976 with a generous grant from what is now the May and Samuel Rudin Family Foundation. Since then, the center has expanded its activities and distinguished itself as an integral part of Iona's educational program.

The Samuel Rudin Academic Resource Center, located on the ground level of Amend Hall, is available to students who wish to improve their learning skills or who seek academic support. Working one-on-one or in small groups, the professional staff, graduate students, and undergraduate tutors help students acquire, improve, review and strengthen skills. The Center stresses academic support in areas related to the College core: writing, mathematics and computer science. The Center also provides reasonable accommodation and services to students with disabilities.

The Samuel Rudin Academic Resource Center is especially concerned with assisting first-year students in making a smooth transition from high school to college, while maintaining its primary goal: providing all students with the guidance and support they need in becoming independent and self-confident learners.
There is no charge for any of the Center's services.

Walk-in service is generally available for:

  • Reviewing papers
  • Mathematics
  • Computer Applications

For all other subjects please call (914) 633- 2217 to ask if a tutor is available. Schedule online appointments.
