Course & Program Recommendations

When preparing to meet with your assigned Academic Advisor, review the different Majors and the courses you may be advised to take. Look up course descriptions and note the kind of content you are studying. You are creating a balance of five courses on average, with a blend of skills being used, Reading, Writing, Analysis, and Problem Solving.

If you find you do not "fit" one course or another, please write or call the Advising Center with questions.

Students pursuing the majors above will be taking a Math Assessment using ALEKS, an online assessment instrument. Students will be notified via their Iona email, through the Single Sign-On Office 365 app, and be provided with an Access Code to create an ALEKS account under their name. The email will be shared with students shortly after their deposit date, or after our enrollment cycle opens.

Please follow the link below to learn more about the ALEKS assessment instrument, and how it will be used to ensure students are prepared and succeed in their planned major.
