OMM Pre-Orientation Programs

Apply for the Office of Mission & Ministry’s summer pre-orientation programs.
Get Moving! and Get Ginkgo! are service and leadership programs for incoming first-year Iona University students during the summer. The 2026 program will take place August 18-20, 2026.
These programs allow you to move into campus early, build connections with fellow Gaels, and get to know campus and the surrounding community. Both programs satisfy 15 community service hours for the Gael Service Award program.
In these programs, you begin your Iona career by being introduced to the University’s mission, values, and traditions through service projects, faith experiences, meeting key administrators, getting to know current student leaders, and exploring the greater New York City area.
Cost: $150
Get Moving!
Highlights of the Get Moving! program include:
- Community service projects with three local non-profits
- Explore New Rochelle and NYC
- Connect with Iona faculty, staff, administrators and student Leaders
- Escape Room & Bowling field trips

Get Ginkgo!
Highlights of the Get Ginkgo! program include:
- Meet other first-years exploring faith and purpose
- Enjoy a NYC pilgrimage & shared brunch
- Reflect, plan, and pray for your first 100 days
- Connect with a local faith community, faculty, and student leaders
