Obtaining your Federal Subsidized and/or Unsubsidized Direct Loans is a three-step process:
Step 1 – Accept your federal subsidized and/or unsubsidized direct loans via your myiona.iona.edu account (Self Service > Campus Finances > Accept Awards).
Step 2 – Sign your Master Promissory Note (MPN) by visiting www.studentloans.gov.
Step 3 – Complete your Entrance Counseling by visiting www.studentloans.gov.
Your Subsidized and/or Unsubsidized Direct Loan will only disburse and credit your student account if it has been accepted and both the Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling have been completed on www.studentloans.gov

The Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan
is a loan available through the Federal Direct Loan program for the parents of dependent students. To apply for a Parent PLUS Loan, please visit www.studentloans.gov
. If approved, you may borrow up to the student’s cost of attendance minus any financial aid the student is receiving. If denied, the student is eligible for an additional unsubsidized loan in the amount of $4,000. See more information
