8:30-9:30 a.m.

Breakfast for Parents & Families and Resource Fair 

Location: Upper Gym, Hynes Athletics Center    

A complimentary breakfast is available. You will have the chance to visit tables around the room and meet representatives from various departments on campus. Please be certain to have your raffle ticket stamped by each department table!   

9:45 a.m.

Parent and Family Welcome and OL Introductions

Location: Upper Gym, Hynes Athletics Center 

Parent and Family Welcome and overview of the schedule. Get to know the orientation leaders that will be guiding you around throughout the day.

10:05-10:45 a.m.

Welcome to Gael Nation

Location: Upper Gym, Hynes Athletics Center  

An opportunity to formally welcome the Class of 2030 and all incoming new students! While this is a joint session for students and families, students will be sitting with their Orientation groups.


10:45 a.m. 

Parent & families will travel to the Murphy Auditorium (Gael Express shuttles will be available).

11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Parent & Family Morning Sessions

Breaks will be available throughout the morning.

Location: Murphy Auditorium

Getting Started: Letting College Happen (Counseling Center)

Your student’s Iona University journey begins today! This session takes you through this important adjustment period step-by-step and offers valuable tips on how to support your student’s growth.

Academic Resources for Success  

Learn about the offices working together to provide students guidance and support along the journey to academic success. Today you will meet the staff of the Center for Advising and Academic Services, the Samuel Rudin Academic Resource Center, TRIO, and the Accessibility Services Office. Each office provides services that every student may need or use in their first year at Iona.

Business Services

Learn about the Residential and Commuter meal plans, the text book program, and more.

Student Financial Services  

Understand your student’s account and learn how to make the most of convenient online account services!

Parents & families will travel to the LaPenta School of Business (Gael Express shuttles will be available).

We ask that Parents allow for their students to complete their sessions for the day. OLs will bring students to join you at the reception when they are dismissed.

Iona Gael New Student & Family Reception

Location: LaPenta School of Business Atrium

All new students and families taking part in the Orientation session are welcome! Information Sessions and Cohort Receptions will be held throughout the LaPenta School of Business.
