Thanksgiving Basket Drive
Iona’s legacy of service and spirit of generosity is on full display each year during the Thanksgiving Basket Drive. Organized by the Office of Mission & Ministry, the Iona community comes together to provide more than 140 local families with the necessary ingredients to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.
2025 Thanksgiving Basket Drive
Baskets from this year’s drive will support families from many of our local community partners, including HOPE Community Services and Big Vivs Inc.in New Rochelle, A.C.T. Inc in White Plains, and Thrive for Life in the Bronx.
Clubs and Organizations are invited to sign up to purchase and collect food items for Thanksgiving dinner to be placed in a personalized basket. These completed baskets can be dropped off in the Mulcahy Gymnasium between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19.
This year, Mission & Ministry will be hosting a contest and will award one academic/administrative department and one student club/organization with a pizza party for the best decorated basket! Those who wish to participate must have their basket decorated and in Mulcahy Gym by 2 p.m. Groups can decorate their own basket or use supplies that Mission & Ministry will have in Mulcahy Gym on Wednesday.
Our annual Thanksgiving Basket Blessing Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 4 p.m. in the Mulcahy Gymnasium.
