Advisement Center

Center for Advising and Academic Services

Advisement for all freshmen and undeclared/exploratory majors happens in the Center for Advising and Academic Services. All new Transfer students will also be advised by the professional staff for their first term, and will be advised about their major, which may be declared only after an assessment by the major department.

Students in both the Schools of Arts & Science and Business will be seen by any one of four advisors, and be guided in course options, general Core requirements and paths to our numerous available majors.

We act as a processing point for a variety of academic actions, including:
  • Program Change
  • Repeat Courses
  • First-Year Amnesty
  • Academic Leave while Maintaining Matriculation
  • Course Withdrawal
  • Term Over-Load
  • Permission to Study at Another College

We act as a resource to both students and faculty on matters tied to:

  • Academic Progress toward degree completion
  • Liberal Arts Core substitutions or changes
  • Attendance problems and monitoring
  • Liaising between offices to assist students in problem solving
*Honors students are advised by the Honors Program
