Credit for Prior Coursework

There are many ways that you might have earned college credit previously. Coming into Iona with college credits can lessen your required course load and help advance your academic standing!

Whether you took college-level courses through programs such as Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate, or in partnership with another college or university, we want to make sure those credits get evaluated!

If, after you have started Iona University, you wish to earn college credit through exams, you may wish to consider the University Level Placement Exam (CLEP). CLEP allows you to earn credit for subject-specific content you are proficient in and able to pass a competency exam for. Please discuss this option with an adviser from the Advising Center to see if it right for you!
