First-Year Students Move-In Day Protocols
On behalf of Iona University, we are excited to welcome you to campus! As we quickly approach the start of our new academic, please review the information below.
Housing Assignment
Your housing assignment was sent out recently. Please reference that email, and any updates, if you are uncertain of your housing assignment.
You can also view your housing assignment in your housing application in the StarRez portal, accessed via PeopleSoft with your Iona credentials.
- Open the 2025-2026 Academic Year application.
- Navigate to the “roommate profile” page and click “save and continue” and your confirmation should open with your housing assignment.
Please note that all health records must be up to date with Health Services and financial arrangements must be in order with Student Financial Services to ensure a smooth move in. Failure to do so could result in a delay in your move in process.

Checking In & unloading
- ODD Floors
- check-in in the BACK.
- EVEN Floors
- check-in in the FRONT.
UNLOADING IS FOR 15 MINUTES ONLY
A licensed driver must stay with your car while unloading. After unloading, please move your vehicle as designated by Iona Staff. Be sure to provide a valid cell phone number for your unloading sign.
If unloading traffic is heavy, you'll be directed to loop around.
What floor am I on?
Your floor is based on your room assignment.
EX: 014 is on the FIRST floor; 024 is on the SECOND floor; 030 is on the THIRD floor; etc. Loftus Hall has ten floors; room 104 is on the TENTH floor.

Where: Unload and check-in at the back of East Hall.
When: All Floors arrive at the designated time listed below at the Columba Lot.

- 204 = 2nd floor (male students)

All floors check in during the designated time (8 a.m.-2 p.m.) in the parking area in front of Rice Hall.

- 018 = ground level floor (mixed gen half & half)
- 118 = first floor (male)
- 218 = second floor (mixed gen half & half)
- 318 = 3rd floor (female)
