The Gerri Ripp Center for Career Development strives to foster productive and meaningful relationships to connect students with employers from various industries and professional fields. To effectively support your recruiting efforts, the Career Center team will work with you to build your presence on-campus and identify meaningful engagement points.

Recruitment Services

Submit your internship/job announcement on Iona’s online career management system, Handshake, and enable Iona students and alumni to view and apply to your opportunity. Our active online community is a great way to promote and generate applicants for your opportunities.

Create a Handshake Account

Registered Users:

  • Log-in to Handshake with the email address and password that you used to create your account.
  • Click Jobs on the left-hand side bar to post your positions.
  • All positions go to a holding bin for approval.

On-campus interviews provide employers with the opportunity to meet and screen qualified undergraduate and graduate students seeking full-time employment or internship positions. We offer both pre-select and open interview schedules and support a variety of organizations from all industry sectors including public, private, not-for-profit, and government. We support both fall and spring recruitment cycles.

A chance for employers to present to students about their organization, industry, job opportunities, career paths, and application process.

Presentations can be geared toward specific majors including academic and diversity clubs.

The résumé referral program permits an employer to list a position with the Center for Career Development and using specific job-related criteria the Career Center will screen and curate a résumé collection of qualified applicants for further consideration.

To ensure success, résumé referral requests should be made with a minimum of four weeks lead time. Shorter turnaround times are possible depending on the position and time of year.

Information tables are available during the academic year to promote employment opportunities directly to students on campus. Table locations are provided in high traffic areas during time periods when students are not in class to maximize your reach, visibility and the ability to interact face-to-face with students. Before requesting an information table, please make sure your current employment opportunities are posted online in Handshake.

The Center for Career Development welcomes employer support and participation in preparing our students for the workplace. There are opportunities to sponsor, host, and co-present career programs. Some options include:
