Request to Prevent Disclosure of Directory Information

The Family Educational Rights Privacy Act (FERPA) designates certain information (name, address, phone number, email address, participation in officially recognized activities and sports, enrollment status, degrees, honors and awards received, field of study, weight and height of member of athletic teams, photograph, date and place of birth, dates of attendance, grade level, the most recent educational agency or institution attended) related to students as “Directory Information” and gives Iona College the right to disclose such information to anyone inquiring without having to ask students for permission, unless the students specifically request in writing that all such information not be made public without written consent.
