Registering For Orientation
The final summer 2023 Orientation session 4, will take place Thursday, August 24 – Friday, August 25. Each incoming student must register to reserve their spot.
Please use the link below to register for New Student Orientation.
You will receive an automated email confirmation. If you do not receive a confirmation email, your registration did not go through.
We encourage students to register as soon as possible to be able to reserve a spot in their New Student Orientation session of choice.
To provide the best experience for our incoming students each Orientation session has a limited number of spaces available. If you need additional assistance, please feel free to email orientation@iona.edu or call the Center for Student Engagement at (914) 633-2360.
If you are having difficulty with online Orientation registration, please feel free to email your full name, contact number and date requested to orientation@iona.edu.
If for some reason you are unable to attend the required New Student Orientation session, please email us at orientation@iona.edu so we may work with you on a case-by-case basis.
Orientation check-in on Thursday, August 24 will occur for residential and commuter students at Murphy Green.
Parents and Families attending the Parent and Family Session will check in at the Parent and Family Breakfast and Resource Fair in Hynes Gym.
Please pay close attention to e-mail communication with updated information and details of the schedule as the date gets closer.
Residential students for the 2023-2024 academic year attending the August Orientation will receive an email with their Housing Assignment, move-in location and time from the Office of Residential Life. Residential move-in for incoming students attending the August Orientation will be on Wednesday, August 23 from 2-5 p.m.. Please see details from the Office of Residential Life.
Commuters are expected to attend both days of the Orientation program, and all Orientation sessions, but do not stay on campus overnight for the August Orientation. Any commuter students with questions may contact the Orientation team at orientation@iona.edu.

- Health Immunization forms if they were not already submitted by the July 1 deadline.
Optional: Your laptop, so you can connect your device to Iona's wireless network before class begins. If you are living on campus, please refer to guide provided for you by the Office of Residential Life.

Yes, you may bring your car to campus for Orientation sessions. Temporary parking for unloading and drop offs will be offered in the parking lot nearest to the residence hall. Students and parents must then park their cars in the parking garage, near the LaPenta School of Business and the Hynes East Gymnasium.
For August Orientation Commuter students may bring their car. Attendees for the Parents and Family session may bring their car. Residential students moving into the residence halls must follow campus policies.
All incoming students were asked to email a passport quality type photo to security@iona.edu with their full name and student ID number. Students must send this email from their Iona email account.
Iona identification photos will also be taken if needed at a scheduled session during New Student Orientation. Commuter students may complete a Parking Permit request online.
Yes, there is a bus located right outside of the campus on North Avenue. The Metro North Train also runs through downtown New Rochelle. Iona University's Gael Express will be available upon request by contacting orientation@iona.edu or contact Campus Safety directly at (914) 633-2560.
Yes, please contact chartwells@iona.edu prior to your arrival to alert them to your dietary restrictions or food allergies. You must also contact them upon your arrival.
You should also let your Orientation coordinator know when you arrive. Individuals dining on campus must always directly communicate with the Dining Services Director and/or Chef regarding food allergies and dietary restrictions.
If you have a schedule conflict, or something unexpectedly occurs, please speak with an Orientation coordinator for assistance. All students are expected to check in during Orientation Registration/Move-in, and check-out during the designated check-out time.

Parent/Family Orientation
Parent and Family Orientation occurs on the first day of the summer Orientation sessions starting at 8:30 a.m. We anticipate the Parent and Family Orientation session to conclude at latest 3 p.m. While the Parent/Family Orientation is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended. This Orientation provides parents with campus information including but not limited to: wellness and safety, financial services, and campus resources.
The Parent and Family Orientation for the August Orientation session will be held on Thursday, August 24 from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
No, parents/guardians do not stay on campus.
Parent and Family members can take advantage of Iona discounts in area hotels during the Orientation session. While we do not make recommendations on any vendors or establishments, two local hotels who are providing discounted Iona rates are below.

Radisson: Iona rate is $139 plus tax Sunday through Thursday and $189 plus tax Friday and Saturday. Please call (914) 576-3700 ext. 261 and ask for Glenia Rojas.

SpringHill Suites: Choose the down arrow under Special Rates in the upper right hand corner of website and choose Corp/Promo Code. Enter GHA to receive the Iona rate, typically $139 per night. Recent families have shared they have enjoyed the SpringHill experience.
