“I would like to become a software engineer at a major technology company and conduct research in the field of artificial intelligence, particularly focused on self-driving cars. My mother and grandfather attended Iona and they encouraged me to become a Gael as well. The class sizes are small and personal, the community is tight-knit and the professors are caring. Iona has taught me lifelong values that I will carry with me always. I was so fortunate to receive a scholarship and want to thank you all so much for your generosity!”

“Iona was my first and only choice as an incoming freshman because I fell in love with the campus on my first visit. Being part of the Marketing Club, and participating in the various activities and events such as Homecoming and the Career Expo, have been among my favorite Iona memories. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Iona for making this scholarship available to me. You helped to give me the opportunity to be part of Iona’s wonderful heritage, and for this I am thankful. I hope to give back to Iona students and help them in the same way that you have helped me.”

“I emigrated to the United States from Russia when I was five years old, and I am the first in my family to attend college. Thank you for this generous scholarship, which has helped me to succeed at Iona – I will use it wisely and make my senior year at Iona my best! The past few years have been rough trying to afford my semesters, but this scholarship certainly made it easier. “I was born and raised in the Virgin Islands, until I came to Iona! I really loved Iona’s mission to serve and the campus was beautiful. My social work cohort and professors are amazing. Our program is close-knit and we all share genuine relationships. After graduation, I plan to work for a non-profit that has a mission to serve underprivileged youth. This scholarship has helped me finish my final semester at Iona on time, and I was able to take an amazing unpaid internship. I will be forever appreciative to Iona for these opportunities. Thank you!”

“I feel very fortunate to receive an Iona education and I would like to thank my donor for opening the doors to many future opportunities. This scholarship is helping me fulfill my dreams of becoming an elementary school teacher. Iona’s slogan is to Move the World and that’s exactly what I strive to do. I will teach my students to always be kind to one another, inside and outside of school. I will also encourage them to attend college and set goals for their futures, so they too, can Move the World.”
