The Office of Residential Life staff is composed of full-time live-in professionals and 35 student resident assistants. Our staff is committed to providing students with a quality residential life experience while promoting personal and academic excellence.

Colin Seifrit

Colin fell in love with Residential Life during his time at Central Connecticut State University. As a first-generation college student, he discovered Student Affairs and Residence Life as a career path and knew instantly that’s what he wanted to do. Colin earned his BA in Science for Elementary Education with a focus in Mathematics and immediately started working as a Residence Hall Director at Mount Saint Mary College where he also received his MBA. Colin has over 10 years of experience working in Residential Life and serves as a board member of the Northeast Association of College and University Housing Officers (NEACUHO). Outside of work Colin enjoys spending time with friends and family, dabbling in photography, playing video games, and trying to keep up with his two young sons.

Becca has been a dedicated member of the Iona University team since May 2021. She received her BA in Psychology from Kean University in Union, N.J. and her Master's in Higher Education and Student Affairs from West Chester University. She is originally from Howell, New Jersey. Becca deeply cherishes spending time with her seven nieces and nephews, and she enjoys the company of her dog, Benson. She is passionate about guiding students through their college journeys and helping them make the most of their experience.

With nearly 20 years of experience in higher ed, Chasity has remained committed to her Assistant Director role since September 2021. She received her BA from UNC-Chapel Hill and her MS from Drexel. Chasity strives to create an equitable residential experience for all students who choose to live on campus. She's a Tar Heel born and bred but chose to be a New Yorker nearly 15 years ago. Outside of work, she enjoys sharing life with her husband, raising their children, crafting Ali Adventures and creating core memories for their family of 4.

Claudia Marcelin is a dual Iona alumnae and received her MBA this past May. With a passion for student affairs that began during her time as a student leader. A local to New Rochelle, she enjoys reading, taking walks with friends, and escaping for a relaxing weekend trip. Claudia is committed to fostering a supportive and engaging residential environment for all students and hopes to pursue a professional career focused on Human Resource and Student Development.

Jonathan has been a Res Life professional for the last 5 years. He received a BA in English from Gardner-Webb University and subsequently an MA in Higher Education from Wagner College. Jonathan is from North Carolina but has made New York home. He enjoys trying new restaurants in the city, spending time with friends, video games, and making music. Jonathan cares deeply about advocating for the student experience and fostering an environment of growth and understanding.

Samantha is an Iona alumna and earned her Master’s in Public Relations. She also has a background in communications, and loves connecting with people and building strong, supportive communities. Growing up in The Bronx taught her the power of community, a spirit she's proud to bring to Loftus Hall. Outside of Res Life, Samantha is passionate about wellness and yoga and enjoys bringing mindfulness and balance to her work. Whether through a fun event, a quick hallway chat, or a yoga-inspired moment to recharge, Sam's goal is to support students in every way she can. Loftus Hall is more than just where you live; it’s where you’ll make memories, build friendships, and grow into the next version of yourself.

Gabriella Cama

Gabriella was born and raised in Queens, NY, but recently earned her master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from the University at Buffalo. As the RHD of Bohm, she oversees the hall’s operations and supports various residential needs throughout the year. Gabriella is thrilled to not only help students feel at home within their communities but help them feel empowered as individuals. Outside of working with students, her passions include traveling, cosmetology, and cooking.

Sherquan Dailey is a proud Iona alum and MBA candidate at the LaPenta School of Business whose passion for student affairs took root during his days as a student leader. With nearly three years of hands-on experience in residence life, he thrives in creating spaces where students feel supported, connected, and inspired. Outside of work, you’ll find him diving into a good book, experimenting in the kitchen, exploring new destinations, or bringing his artistic ideas to life. As assistant coordinator of Residential Life, he’s excited to keep shaping an unforgettable Iona experience for every student who calls campus home.

Sophia Notarianni-Smith

Sophia Notarianni-Smith is from Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born in Hawai'i and grew up all over Europe: Italy, Romania, the Netherlands, and Belgium, to name a few. She attended the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) and graduated with her Bachelor's in Communications with a minor in Human Resources. She moved to New Rochelle with her husband shortly after, who is getting his Master's at Iona. She loves dogs, baking and reading.
Resident Assistants
Each resident is assigned a resident assistant who has been trained to be a campus resource and is available to answer questions about campus and living in the residence halls.
Resident assistants are supervised by a master's-level residence hall director.
