Our residence halls will have you feeling right at home. All rooms are fully furnished with a comfortable twin extra-long bed, desk, chair, dresser, and closet space for each resident.

Meal Plan

All residential students participate in the full meal plan offered by Iona College. The meal plan is included in the room and board charges for residential students. Participation in the full meal plan is mandatory for all on-campus residents. The meal plan can be used at on-campus Chartwells dining and off-campus restaurants. Funds can be added to the existing meal plans.

Laundry

For your convenience, there is a laundry facility in each residence hall that are accessible 24/7.
 
Single Wash: $1.75
Single Dry: $1.75
 
Residential students will be given a reloaded laundry card that they will use to do laundry. Residential students can add value to their laundry card using the value machine in their respected laundry room. The value machine accepts one, five, and ten dollar bills.
 
To report a broken washer or dryer, please email residentiallife@iona.edu with number of the machine and the issue.
 

Internet

Get connected! All residence halls are equipped with access to wireless internet. If you have any issues, contact the Ryan Library Help Desk at (914) 633-2635.
 

Lounges

There is at least one lounge in each residence hall that residential students have access to 24/7. Residential students can utilize this space for a variety of purposes – study, cook, fellowship, exercise, relax, socialize with friends and so much more.
 

Mail

Residential students are each assigned a mailbox in their residence hall, except for students who live in the Apartments at Eastchester and on-campus houses who receive their mail at the campus mail room in Doorley Hall. Mail will be delivered Monday through Friday. If a package arrives for a resident, a package slip will be put in the resident’s mailbox with instructions for pick-up at their designated mailroom. Photo ID must be shown to pick up a package.

Cable

All rooms are equipped with cable television. Residents need to provide a coaxial cable for the television. Please see the Student Handbook for a list of television stations.
 

Philo

Residential students can now stream TV on their computers or tablets anywhere on campus!
 
What is Philo?
Philo allows residential students to watch and record live TV on their desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones and TVs (via Roku) – while they are on campus.

How to reach Philo
Philo support request can be submitted online at support.philo.com. Philo does not offer phone support.

Who can use Philo?
Philo is only available to residential students.

Where can students use Philo?
Students can use Philo anywhere on campus when they are connected to the college's data network. Philo will not work if a student is not physically on campus.

How much does Philo cost?
There is no additional charge for the service.

Recording Shows
  • How many hours or how many shows can you record.
    • DVR system allots each student 20 hours of DVR space.
  • Can you record multiple shows at the same time?
    • There are no restrictions on recording multiple shows at the same time.
  • Can you record a series just like a DVR?
    • Yes! To record a series, students either search the show's title (or click on it if it is currently playing 'Live'), then click 'Record All'. 

How to Use Philo

How do you access Philo?
To sign in to Philo, viewers simply need to complete the following steps:
Accessing Philo via iOS or Android requires the same login credentials.
  1. Connect to the college's wired or wireless network.
  2. Visit watch.philo.com and click the “Log In” button.
  3. Log in with your network credentials.
  4. Start watching Philo!

My TV
Viewers can see their most recent recordings, trending live TV and new upcoming shows at a glance. This makes it easy to decide what to watch next.
Click on ‘MyTV’

Live TV
Viewers can also go to the Live page, where they’ll see a real-time lineup of what’s currently playing on their channels. They just have to browse through the listings and select any channel to start watching live content.
Click on ‘Live’

DVR
Viewers have access to unlimited DVR space, allowing them to record shows to watch on their schedule. They can select a live program to record, or visit a specific show page and choose to record all new episodes of that show, all upcoming episodes including reruns or single episodes. To watch their recordings, they can navigate to the “Recordings” tab, where they will find a complete library of their recorded content.

Microwave & Refrigerator

Students are not permitted to bring microwaves to the residence halls, although they are allowed at the Apartments at Eastchester. Microwaves are provided on the floors in Loftus Hall and Rice Hall, and there is one in each kitchenette in Conese Hall and Hales Hall.
 
Large refrigerators are available in Conese Hall and Hales Hall in the kitchenette area. Students are allowed to bring a fridge to campus if they would like; below are the specifications:
 
Refrigerator specifications:
  1.  Individual refrigerators should not exceed 2.8 cubic foot (2 amps max).
  2.  If sharing the refrigerator, it should not exceed 5.5 cubic foot (4 amps) per room.
  3.  It must be UL approved and meet existing electrical codes.
  4.  It must be placed in a location that provides adequate ventilation.
  5.  It must be plugged directly into an outlet (no extension cords or multi-plugs).
  6.  We request that all refrigerators be ENERGY STAR-rated.

Parking

Freshman and sophomore residential students are not permitted to have cars on campus or in the community.  Junior and senior student parking passes are available at Campus Safety and Security in the Robert V. LaPenta Student Union.
