Resident Assistant

Application Process 2018-2019

Thank you for your interest in becoming a resident assistant at Iona College! Below you will find information about the resident assistant recruitment process for 2018-2019 academic year.

Requirements:

  • Current full-time undergraduate student
  • Will have sophomore, junior, or senior status for 2018-2019
  • Minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • In good judicial standing with the College

All candidates must attend one information session to apply:

  • Thursday, November 30, 2017, at noon, 6th Floor Lounge, North Ave Residence Hall
  • Monday, December 4, 2017, at 8 p.m., 6th Floor Lounge, North Ave Residence Hall
  • Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at noon, End Zone, Robert V. LaPenta Student Union
  • Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at 6 p.m., 2nd Floor Lounge, Loftus Hall
  • Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at 8 p.m., Game Room, Rice Hall
  • Thursday, January 18, 2018, at noon, End Zone, Robert V. LaPenta Student Union
  • Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at noon, 2nd Floor Lounge, Loftus Hall

Resident Assistant Selection Process Timeline

  • Friday, January 26, 2017 – Submit completed applications on this date between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to Conference Room 3 on the 2nd floor of LaPenta Student Union. You may sign up for an individual interview time once you submit your application.
  • Friday, February 2, 2018 – The group interview process will be from 2 - 5 p.m. Location to be announced.
  • Tuesday, February 6 – Friday, February 9, 2018 – Individual interviews will be scheduled for 30-minute blocks between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Friday, February 23, 2018 Decision letters will be emailed. Deadline to accept an offer is Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

Front Desk and Mail Room Attendants

Residential Life Front Desk Worker
Awarded work study and looking for on-campus employment? The Office of Residential Life is hiring!
 
Act as a liaison between the students, visitors/ guests, and staff. Take the opportunity to meet new people, gain work experience, and develop leadership skills. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure the safety and security of all students in the residence halls
  • Sort and distribute mail and packages for our residential community
  • Provide high quality customer service to students and guests

Residential Life Office Assistant

Awarded work study and looking for on-campus employment? The Office of Residential Life is hiring!
 
Act as a liaison between the students, visitors/ guests, and staff. Office assistants provide high-quality customer service to all residents, parents, and all other customers, as well as to support the Office of Residential Life. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Clerical responsibilities
  • Assisting with projects
  • Other duties as assigned
