Welcome to the Office of Residential Life! If you are looking for a leadership position on campus, we offer leadership and employment opportunities to undergraduate students through our resident assistant, front desk and mail room attendants, and office assistant positions. Feel free to review position descriptions and general information below:

Resident Assistant Application Process 2019-2020

There are about 50 or so resident assistants 
gathered on the steps of McSpedon. They all wear maroon Iona shirts and appear very lively, enthusiastic and happy. One guy in the back is jumping

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Resident Assistant at Iona College! Below you will find information about the Resident Assistant Recruitment Process for 2019-2020 academic year.

Requirements:

  • Current full-time undergraduate student
  • Will have sophomore, junior, or senior status for 2019-2020
  • Minimum 2.75 cumulative G.P.A
  • In good judicial standing

All candidates must attend one information session to apply

  • Thursday, November 29, 2018 at noon, North Ave Res Hall 6th Floor Lounge
  • Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 8 p.m., North Ave Res Hall 6th Floor Lounge
  • Thursday, December 6, 2018 at noon, End Zone
  • Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 6 p.m., Loftus Hall 2nd Floor Lounge
  • Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 8 p.m., Rice Hall Game Room
  • Thursday, January 17, 2019 at noon, McGrath Room B
  • Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at noon, Loftus Hall 2nd Floor Lounge

Resident Assistant Selection Process Timeline

  • Friday, January 25, 2019 - Submit completed applications on this date between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to Conference Room 3 on the 2nd Floor of LaPenta Student Union. You may sign up for an individual interview time once you submit your application.
  • Friday, February 1, 2019 - The group interview process will be from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Location to be announced.
  • Tuesday, February 5 – Friday, February 8, 2019 - Individual interviews will be scheduled for 30-minute blocks between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Friday, February 22, 2019 - Decision letters will be emailed. Deadline to accept an offer is Wednesday, February 27, 2019.

Front Desk and Mail Room Attendants

Residential Life Front Desk Worker
Awarded work study and looking for on-campus employment? The Office of Residential Life is hiring!
 
Act as a liaison between the students, visitors/ guests, and staff. Take the opportunity to meet new people, gain work experience, and develop leadership skills. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure the safety and security of all students in the residence halls
  • Sort and distribute mail and packages for our residential community
  • Provide high quality customer service to students and guests

Residential Life Office Assistant

Awarded work study and looking for on-campus employment? The Office of Residential Life is hiring!
 
Act as a liaison between the students, visitors/ guests, and staff. Office assistants provide high-quality customer service to all residents, parents, and all other customers, as well as to support the Office of Residential Life. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Clerical responsibilities
  • Assisting with projects
  • Other duties as assigned
