The Iona Family Therapy Center (IFTC) is a non-profit center in operation for over 40 years in the heart of New Rochelle, NY. Therapists at the IFTC are graduate students from the Iona University Marriage and Family Therapy program. Therapists are supervised by Iona faculty who are licensed psychologists, licensed Marriage & Family therapists, clinical members and approved supervisors of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).


The IFTC offers affordable, responsive therapy services to individuals, children, couples and families. Using a Family Systems approach, therapists assist clients to achieve their goals in a supportive, sincere, and nonjudgmental environment.

To ensure each client’s confidentiality is carefully maintained, therapists and supervisors adhere to the ethical principles set forth by the AAMFT and New York State laws pertaining to confidentiality and professional practice.

Upon your initial email or call, a professionally trained interviewer will schedule and conduct an initial interview before being assigned to a graduate student therapist. Referrals for services beyond the scope of IFTC (i.e. severe mental illness, active domestic violence, substance abuse disorders) are made to other, more appropriate community providers and agencies.

This is a free service to Iona University students, alumni, faculty, administration, staff and their families.
