About Iona University

At Iona, you’ll find bright, curious students eager to achieve for themselves, and for others. We foster both innovative, independent thinking and a deep commitment to community.

Iona’s unique locations offer the best of both worlds. Our New Rochelle and Bronxville campuses provide a comfortable, intimate learning environment. At Iona, everyone knows everyone and faculty members and students work closely together. With New York City less than half an hour away, students have unlimited options for career development and internship opportunities. Not to mention, access to some of the best cultural attractions in the world!

No two Iona journeys are alike. But they all have a few things in common. High-quality academics, outside-the-box thinking and dedication to helping others underscore every Iona experience.

Developing Skilled, Service-Minded Students

With nearly 50 undergraduate programs and more than 40 graduate programs, Iona offers rigorous, quality academics across a wide range of disciplines. Iona programs have received accreditation from 9 national organizations. Students receive exceptional education in their chosen field of study, and all programs emphasize skills needed in the real world: critical thinking, effective communication, adaptability and creative problem-solving.

Equally important is the University’s commitment to service. Inspired by the legacy of Blessed Edmund Rice and the Christian Brothers, Iona incorporates service-learning experiences into courses across every academic discipline. Informed by our Catholic heritage, Iona values diversity and promotes inclusion.

Where Innovation Meets Opportunity

Iona recognizes the need to stay nimble to succeed in a fast-changing world. We make sure our students recognize it too. The Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation — our own interdisciplinary hub for creative problem-solving — offers programming and resources to all students.

We offer experiential learning opportunities for every student — through community partnerships, internships, research and more. Iona students often graduate with valuable, real-world experience under their belts.

Iona is widely known as a leader in preparing career-ready students. In 2019, PayScale rated Iona University in the top 15% of the best universities for a bachelor’s degree in its College Salary Report. We’re proudly recognized as a top university for helping students achieve upward economic mobility and financial security.
