Why did you decide to attend Iona?
I chose Iona because of its reputable business school, proximity to home, and the softball program.
Do you have an internship?
I completed a summer audit & assurance internship at Deloitte in the Stamford, Conn. office.
What did you enjoy most about your internship?
Towards the end of my internship, I was able to attend the East Audit & Assurance Internship Conference at Deloitte University in Westlake, Texas. There were about 500 people there that came from all over the country. It was an invaluable networking opportunity where I got to meet and develop relationships with people in my field of work. The learning sessions were also extremely rewarding and helped further me not only as a professional, but also as a person.
In what ways has Iona prepared you for the job market?
Iona has been extremely helpful in guiding my career path. Besides the variety of classes offered at Iona, they also hold frequent career development events where guest speakers from all different industries come and talk about their experiences. Hearing firsthand advice from expert professionals has been very influential in rounding my career decision.
What do you feel is the most distinctive advantage gained from your Iona LaPenta School of Business experience?
Iona's career development resources have provided me with the support needed to have a successful career. Between resume workshops and career fairs, the career center offers endless tools that help students get career ready.
What LaPenta School of Business faculty or staff member has made a positive impact on your future? Why?
Michael LaPerch, who was my mentor during the Gaels Go Further Mentoring Program, undoubtedly made a positive impact during my time at Iona. His guidance was truly valuable, and he empowered me to reach many of my goals.
