Why did you choose Iona to pursue your MBA?

I chose Iona University's LaPenta School of Business because it offers an AACSB-accredited MBA program, world-class faculty, and boasts a high 97% post-graduate employment rate. Its connection to the New York business ecosystem and its proximity to my home allowed me to successfully balance my full-time career with the rigorous academic pursuit of a respected degree.

How did it help you in your career?

My LSB education provided a strong foundation of business fundamentals (finance, analytics, strategy, leadership) that enables me to adapt as my career evolves into new roles and industries. A major program pillar was its emphasis on team collaboration, which taught me to communicate across functions and manage diverse viewpoints, mimicking real-world cross-functional teams. This experience ensured I entered my career comfortably leading and contributing to team environments, which is essential in modern organizations.

What is your advice for current students?

My primary advice is to always lead with kindness, as people will not remember your academic record or title, but rather how you made them feel. I stress that this empathetic approach is critical for building lasting, professional relationships.

What is your fondest memory/favorite faculty member at Iona?

My fondest memory was the sense of community and the countless hours spent working with my team on a semester-long business strategy project in the LaPenta Student Union. This experience underscored what makes Iona special: supportive professors, collaborative classmates, and an environment that encouraged me to discover my full potential.

What is your favorite movie, book, TV show or podcast?

My favorite book is Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win, by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin, which I highly recommend for its applicability to young professionals. I find the book exceptional because it clearly translates high-stakes military leadership lessons into valuable strategies for everyday work and life.

What do you feel are your secrets to success?

I believe my success is rooted in a combination of leading with kindness and the mindset developed as an elite gymnast. Leading with kindness fosters empathy, respect, and trust, creating a competitive advantage by building resilient, collaborative teams. My background in gymnastics instilled the discipline, grit, and composure necessary to put in the hard work, manage pressure, and stay consistent throughout my professional career.
