Why did you choose Iona to pursue your MBA?
I chose Iona because of its long-standing reputation for academic excellence and the exceptional experience I had already gained through its BBA program.
How did your MBA help you in your career?
The program prepared me to think critically, solve complex problems, and cultivate meaningful professional relationships. More importantly, it instilled in me a deep appreciation for hard work.
What is your advice for current students?
If you can, be an entrepreneur and buy or build a business that you are passionate about. If being an entrepreneur isn’t your thing, be a positive difference maker, show up early and stay late, build and nurture relationships, and always act with integrity. No matter your academic discipline, you need to excel at applying artificial intelligence tools to reimagine how problems get solved and how work gets done faster, more effectively and efficiently.
What is your proudest professional achievement?
One of my proudest accomplishments is developing team members and helping them reach their full potential. Watching them grow, thrive, and make meaningful contributions in both business and society has been incredibly rewarding.
What is your fondest memory/favorite faculty member at Iona?
Brother John Driscoll was an inspirational leader and mentor for all business students.
What is your favorite movie, book, TV show or podcast?
Shawshank Redemption - a great film of hope, friendship, perseverance and redemption,
What do you feel are your secrets to success?
Strong work ethic, commitment to excellence, teamwork, and servant leadership.
Did you have a mentor/role model? If so, what impact did they have on your career?
Yes. Early in my career, I was fortunate to work with and for a couple of great leaders at some great companies. They provided a strong principled and ethical foundation that led me to always make the right and Christian choice when circumstances were difficult.
Any other information that we should know?
None of my success would have been possible if I hadn't met and married my wife of almost 40 years.
