Why did you choose Iona to pursue your MBA?
I considered my great experience as an undergrad and Iona’s reputation for producing good, reliable, hungry, and capable students. The faculty—an ideal mix of academics and practitioners—created engaging, practical classroom discussions that made returning to Iona an easy decision.
How did your MBA help you in your career?
Earning my MBA demonstrated commitment and drive to employers. The program provided valuable technical knowledge and a real-world perspective through coursework, case studies, and peer learning. The MBA didn’t guarantee success, but it gave me a strong foundation and the tools I needed—it was up to me to apply them with passion and persistence.
What is your advice for current students?
Enjoy the experience and be a sponge. Absorb everything, even if it doesn’t seem relevant now. The broad learning an MBA offers creates flexibility and prepares you for opportunities you can’t yet anticipate.
What is your proudest professional achievement?
My greatest achievements center on people, not numbers or titles. Helping individuals grow—whether by taking on larger roles or moving into new functions—has been the most rewarding part of my career. People are the foundation of every strong organization, and nurturing talent naturally leads to better outcomes.
What do you feel are your secrets to success?
Success depends not only on what you do, but how you do it—with integrity, collaboration, and empathy. Results matter, but the way they’re achieved defines your reputation. Trust and reputation are built over time, so work transparently and thoughtfully. And, align your goals with the organization’s to create win-wins, and always keep the client experience at the center.
Did you have a mentor/role model? If so, what impact did they have on your career?
I’ve benefited from both formal and informal mentors. Formal mentors provide an objective perspective, and informal mentors offer cultural insight and practical wisdom. Adapting the best of what I’ve learned from others—while staying authentic—has been invaluable.
