Dr. Carlson currently teaches courses in Chaucer, medieval women, and Celtic spirituality, as well as core courses in composition and literature to 1700. She has an interest in the intersection of medieval studies and pop culture and has taught, written and presented on topics ranging from the Twilight series to medieval werewolf tales. Her current research interests include medieval children and families, Chaucer and Middle English romance. She is a member of the Honors faculty, and developed and coordinates the Study Abroad trip to the Isle of Iona in Scotland. Dr. Carlson is a member of The Medieval Academy, the New Chaucer Society, the Medieval Club of New York and the Hagiography Society.
