Dr. Jennifer Gerometta teaches courses in clinical linguistics, phonetics, speech science, and advanced phonological disorders. Her research interests include phonological awareness and pre-literacy skill development in children with speech and language delays and disorders, transgender voice and communication training; accent addition/modification for English as a second language learners and network analysis of the developing mental lexicon.

Dr. Gerometta is an associate professor in the Speech Communication Studies Department at Iona University. She is a certified service-learning educator. On campus, Dr. Gerometta mentors and facilitates undergraduate research in speech perception and production. She is the faculty adviser for Hynes Institute Entrepreneurship Club and Phi Sigma Sigma sorority. She is currently the co-chair of the Student Affairs Committee. She serves as a faculty mentor to incoming undergraduates, and collaborates extensively with the International Student Engagement Program on campus. Dr. Gerometta incorporates service-learning pedagogy in courses where possible and appropriate in the Liberal Arts Core. Dr. Gerometta is currently the Communication Studies subject editor of the American Journal of Undergraduate Research.
