Dr. Stacey Rittenberg is the Founding Director of Clinical Education for the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at the NewYork-Presbyterian Iona School of Nursing & Health Sciences. She teaches health sciences courses in anatomy and physiology.
Dr. Rittenberg enjoys sharing her clinical and academic knowledge to facilitate critical thinking and problem-solving. She is passionate about making strong interpersonal connections and has a genuine interest in student success.
Dr. Stacey Rittenberg is the Founding Director of Clinical Education for the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at the NewYork-Presbyterian Iona School of Nursing & Health Sciences. An experienced clinician, educator, and leader, she is dedicated to preparing future physical therapists through excellence in clinical education, mentorship, and evidence-based practice.
Dr. Rittenberg began her career at Helen Hayes Hospital, an affiliate of NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where she served as a Senior Physical Therapist in the outpatient neurologic rehabilitation program. Throughout her clinical career, she has worked with diverse patient populations across a broad range of settings, including acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, home care, medical records auditing, and medical sales. She also founded and operated an in-home physical therapy practice serving patients throughout Westchester County.
Driven by a passion for improving outcomes for individuals with neurologic conditions, Dr. Rittenberg earned board certification as a Neurologic Certified Specialist (NCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Her clinical expertise includes the treatment of individuals with neurologic disorders, amputations, cancer, cardiopulmonary disease, diabetes, orthopedic injuries, osteoporosis, and vestibular dysfunction.
In addition to her clinical accomplishments, Dr. Rittenberg has extensive experience in higher education, having served as an adjunct faculty member in Doctor of Physical Therapy programs as both a clinical skills instructor and clinical education liaison. She is committed to fostering critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and professional growth in her students. Her teaching philosophy centers on building meaningful interpersonal connections, creating engaging learning experiences, and supporting student success both inside and outside the classroom.
Dr. Rittenberg is licensed to practice physical therapy in New York and Connecticut and holds certifications in CPR and Basic Life Support through the American Red Cross. She is also an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Credentialed Clinical Instructor. An active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy, and the New York Physical Therapy Association (NYPTA), she has demonstrated a strong commitment to professional service, including serving as Legislative Liaison for the Hudson Valley District of NYPTA. In recognition of her contributions, she received the NYPTA Outstanding Service to the District Award in 2020.
Her scholarly work has been presented at national conferences, including the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy Conference and the APTA Combined Sections Meeting, with research focused on the use of core outcome measures in adults with neurologic conditions.
