Health Justice: Building an Equitable Future in Healthcare for All
Thursday, December 5, 2024
Health justice is a framework that goes beyond healthcare to examine how social, economic, and environmental factors impact access to health and well-being.
In this talk, Dr. Julia Iyasere, executive director of the Dalio Center for Health Justice at NewYork-Presbyterian, highlights what it means to achieve equitable access to healthcare and why certain populations face systemic barriers, how the social determinants of health can influence health inequities, and how to advocate for a more inclusive approach to healthcare for all. Dr. Iyasere draws on her own experiences as a physician and provides examples and solutions from her work with the Dalio Center for Health Justice.
