Mission
The Commuter Student Association (CSA) is an organization specifically for commuter and off-campus residents of the Iona College community. We are an organization that gives commuter students a place to go to state their comments and concerns about commuter life. We are also an organization that gives commuters and off-campus students a way to get involved in the Iona College community and the New Rochelle community at large. We are a unified coalition of students who work together to try and make positive changes to commuter life. We sponsor events to unify commuter and off-campus students to bridge the gap between residential life on campus and students who live outside of campus. In addition to all this, our goal is to have
fun doing it!

Our Philanthropies
Justin’s Wings of Hope
Justin’s Wings of Hope: The Justin Samela Miceli Foundation is a non-profit organization with the goal of preserving Justin's life and memory. It was started in 2008 after his sudden passing. Justin had been a commuter student at Iona.
Cards of Hope
CSA hosts Cards of Hope each fall to honor Justin's memory and legacy of community engagement. During this event, students write cards to members of the community who they want to recognize for their contributions to Iona and New Rochelle.
Peace OUTside Campus
Lindsey Marie Bonistall was a 20-year-old sophomore journalism major at the University of Delaware. Lindsey was murdered in her off-campus apartment while away at school on May 1, 2005. As CSA represents both commuters and Iona’s off–campus students, we work with Peace OUTside Campus, founded by Lindsey’s parents, to raise awareness about off-campus student safety.
