Hellenic Society

Opa! The Hellenic Society is a union of Iona College students, both Greek and non-Greek, that celebrates the rich culture of the Greek peoples. This mission is extended to all within and surrounding the Iona College community!

On campus, the club can be found hosting meetings as well as events/fundraisers that promote and educate others on the many pillars of the Greek culture, including: language, food, music, dance, economy, religion and more. Off campus, the club prides itself on connecting with the Greek community both locally and in the New York City area. In fact, we hold a special connection with our Greek neighbors down the street, the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of New Rochelle.

Additionally, the Hellenic Society adheres to the standards of the Student Government Organization (SGA) and the Student Leader Alliance for Multiculturalism (SLAM).

Meetings

The Hellenic Society meets every other Thursday at noon in Room 113, Doorley Hall.

Being Greek is not a requirement for attendance. All are welcome!
