Why did you decide to attend Iona?
I decided to attend Iona to obtain a high-value business degree and to be a part of the successful track and field team.

What influenced your LaPenta School of Business major?
The business school has many events throughout the year with guest speakers, and learning opportunities, which I found to be very helpful beyond my classes. This helped me realize the field I wanted to be in because our department goes above and beyond for our success. I started off as a marketing major and took a few IT classes and decided to combine them in order to have flexibility when joining the workforce.

Have you interned anywhere?
This summer I was an IT intern at PepsiCo in the Purchase, N.Y. headquarters.

What did you enjoy most about your internship?
The company culture was very motivating, and every employee has an equal opportunity to grow and succeed in multiple areas within the company. At the end of my internship, I was grateful to receive a full-time offer at PepsiCo when I graduate.

In what ways has Iona prepared you for the job market?
Iona has prepared me by showing me the different directions I can go within the business field, and for giving me the opportunity to connect with staff to carefully review my resume and cover letters.

What do you feel is the most distinctive advantage gained from your Iona LaPenta School of Business experience?
The multiple events and learning opportunities that the business school holds, makes the experience much more valuable than most other schools. Since we are a smaller school, when guest speakers come in they connect with students on a more personal level, and we benefit from Iona alumni who visit and are always willing to help.

What LaPenta School of Business faculty or staff member has made a positive impact on your future? Why?
Kyle Byrne has made a big impact on my future in terms of opportunity seeking and resume building. He has set me up for success in terms of expanding my network and making connections with Iona alumni who I have since developed strong relationships with.
