Archival Studies

Archival studies forms the foundation of the ITPS. Since the ITPS was founded in 2011 to preserve and build curriculum around the Thomas Paine National Historical Association (TPNHA) archival collection, we draw on the life and legacy of Thomas Paine to work with students in building a strong foundation in media, data, and information literacy through archival research. Preservation and access to the TPNHA collection is central to our mandate, and our fellowship program, particularly our new partnership with University of Virginia Press, as well as our work with digital humanities experts is focused on this archive. The Lapidus collection is also a key resource in this work.
