ITPS Work

The ITPS maintains a three-pronged mission in the interrelated fields of digital humanities, public history, and archival studies. The Institute supports the Iona University community and general public through a wide range of events, programming, and student-focused opportunities. Inspired by the connections between Iona’s emphasis on intellectual inquiry, community engagement, and appreciation for diversity and Thomas Paine’s life and legacy, the ITPS provides a multidisciplinary forum that explores the relevance of the Age of Revolutions to today. Highlights of ITPS initiatives include scholarly publications, student internships and curriculum, advanced research fellowships and digital projects involving the Thomas Paine National Historical Association (TPNHA) archive, community partnerships and sponsorships, and a vibrant calendar of academic and public facing history conferences, workshops, and symposiums.
