Lucas Haddad is a senior from North Attleboro, Mass., pursuing a double major in accounting and finance at Iona University. Haddad recently was a tax intern at the Big Four accounting firm PwC in their New York-metropolitan office, where he gained experience preparing tax returns for multiple clients in the financial services industry. The internship provided him a platform to connect with senior leaders and gain valuable exposure to the accounting industry.

Haddad credits the LaPenta School of Business for preparing him with important skills to be successful.

“Through my business classes, I’ve been able to enhance my leadership, communication and networking skills, all of which will help me in the real world,” he said.

He especially highlights his professors and mentors in the Gaels Go Further Mentoring Program for sparking his interest in accounting. His advice to LaPenta School of Business students is to make as many connections as possible while at Iona.

“Get to know your professors and take advantage of the many alumni networking events that Iona has to offer,” he said. “There’s a reason why alumni come back to Iona – they want to help.”
