Alpha Sigma Tau

Established in 1899 at Eastern Michigan University, Alpha Sigma Tau began as a sorority for teachers. Over the last 125 years, our Sorority has become a supportive sisterhood where all women can learn, grow, and empower themselves and others to define excellence. 

College is about more than just classes—it’s about the experiences that shape you. With Alpha Sigma Tau, you’ll create lifelong friendships, make your mark as a Gael, and support the women in your community through our National Philanthropy, the Women’s Wellness Initiative. 

You will also step into your future with confidence, developing key leadership and relationship skills before joining a vast professional network of Sisters beyond Iona, with more than 2,000 alumnae within 30 miles of New Rochelle.
