Colleges Against Cancer
The American Cancer Society Colleges Against Cancer is a nationwide collaboration of college students, faculty and staff dedicated to saving lives from cancer by initiating and supporting programs of the American Cancer Society in college communities.
Designed and administered by college students from across the country, Colleges Against Cancer (CAC) enables students and staff to work through different channels to help people stay well, get well, find cures and fight back against this disease. CAC’s strategic directions focus on advocacy, cancer education, the American Cancer Society Relay For Life® and survivorship.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life® is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and fight back against the disease. We host a kick-off a couple of months before Relay For Life® to present information regarding the event. Along with kick-off and Relay For Life®, Colleges Against Cancer co-sponsors many events as well as hosts our own events to fight back against cancer.
Each year, more than 4 million people in over 20 countries take part in this global phenomenon and raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer. The Relay For Life® movement also raises more than $400 million annually. The American Cancer Society puts these donations to work, investing in groundbreaking research in every type of cancer and providing free information and services to cancer patients and their caregivers.
