is Iona College’s official student-run newspaper. The writers and editors work diligently to make sure that news around campus is covered accurately and thoroughly. The staff produces a 16-page publication that hits newsstands every two weeks during the school year. The paper comes out seven times every semester. Each issue of The Ionian
consists of the following sections: news, sports, features, arts & entertainment, and opinion.
An Award-Winning Publication
has garnered national recognition for its exceptional writing and reporting. The paper won First Place for Colleges/Universities with more than 2,501 students from the American Scholastic Press Association. Immediate Past Editor-in-Chief Ian Sacks ’16 was a finalist at the Society of Professional Journalists Region 1 Mark of Excellence Awards for his sports columns.
General staff meetings are held twice every month and are open to anyone. Meeting times, as well as the editorial board’s office hours, will be posted outside of The Ionian office. The office is located on the second floor of Robert V. LaPenta Student Union.
