Why did you decide to attend Iona?
I decided to attend Iona because I believed it would give me a great path to be successful in life. Another reason is because my aunt attended Iona and she now has a successful career in finance. Her stories about her Iona experience resonated with me and when it came time to tour colleges, I knew that I could see myself at Iona. Everyone I met was amiable and felt connected. The tour was all I needed to make my decision – I knew I wanted to spend my next four years here.
Where are you interning?
I’m interning at Neuberger Berman in their private wealth management division in Manhattan.
What do you enjoy most about your internship?
What I enjoy most about my internship is the relationships I have built. The team I work with are some of the best people I have ever met. They made me feel welcome since day one. The energy is always high, and we are always prepared to take on new projects. Along with that, my colleagues have given me great advice for adjusting to life after college. Overall, my experience at Neuberger Berman has been like no other. I would not have wanted to spend my summer any other way and I will never forget the important lessons I learned here.
In what ways has Iona prepared you for the job market?
Iona has prepared me for the job market by providing me with all the necessary tools to succeed in the business field, including taking challenging, yet engaging, courses in the LaPenta School of Business. Whatever curveball the job market may throw at me, I am confident in my ability to overcome it and excel in any position due to my education.
What LaPenta School of Business faculty or staff member has made a positive impact on your future? Why?
Dr. Wei He is a professor who has positively impacted my future. Her class provided a great introduction to the world of finance. Dr. He’s class was challenging, but I now feel well prepared to go into any area of finance.
